On behalf of the SFWA’s Board of Directors, I’d like to welcome you to our new website! We expect this site will go a long way in helping us communicate with our members both near and far. Click on the MORE link below to take a quick tour of the new site.
As you may have noticed, we’re using a ‘BLOG’ format for the site. A ‘BLOG’ is a nickname for a Web Log, or online journal. Using the blog sofware will enable us to publish all sorts of content — Association News, Gear Reviews, Travel Articles, Industry News, Racing News, Event Postings / Recap’s etc. So stay tuned over the coming months as we hope to publish a wide variety of interesting content and articles…
The ‘About the SFWA’ section covers our association. We talk about our goals and objectives, our association’s history and member-base, as well as provide links to important SFWA contacts and some additional info about who built the site and what technologies were employed.
The ‘Sailing Locations’ section provides you with a categorized listing of our most popular sailing spots throughout South Florida. In particular, we created a series of ‘wind indicator’ and ‘ability level’ graphics that give you a quick understanding what winds the location favors and suggested ability levels. Over the coming months, we hope to provide you with additional location info for the Keys, Central and South West Florida. One thing we’re missing are actual photos of each of the locations — that’s where you come in. If you have location photos, please send them to 
The ‘Windsurfing Links’ section of the site includes a pretty hefty list of online windsurfing and weather resources which we hope will tie you over when you’re jones-ing for wind.
Our ‘Forums’ include categorized discussion topics covering a wide variety of subject matter. We hope to make the SFWA Forums some of the liveliest on the net. Head on over and register today!
Our ‘Become a Member’ section provides information on membership benefits, membership options and directions on how to become a member. We’re in the final stages of including PayPal integration to make joining and renewing your membership via the internet an easy and 100% safe affair!
Our ‘eNewsletter’ section contains forms to either subscribe or unsubscribe to our eNewsletter. Additionally, this section contains links to all of our past newsletters if you by any chance missed them first time around.
As with any new endeavor, we expect to endure some growing pains — so with that in mind, if you find anything that seems to be broken or if you have any suggestions on how we can improve this site, by all means please forward them to me.
