The SFWA Fall Swap Meet date has been set for Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Rickenbacker Causeway on Key Biscayne (next to Sailboards Miami on the Bay).

Mark your calendars! The Swap Meet will start at 10AM.

Buyers and sellers are all welcome. Please remember to park completely off the road, as the police will enforce this.

Our Event Permit Fee is quite steep this year, so PLEASE consider joining the Club for only $25.00, or at least donating a few dollars at our sign-up tent to go towards paying the fee. Without your support we cannot sponsor the two Swap Meets every year. Thanks in advance!

Here’s an update from the SFWA Webmaster for you wind-starved sailors:

1. The SFWA Forum was taken offline for security purposes. It has been upgraded and is now working again.
2. The Blogging code was updated to the newest version, also to address security issues.
3. The “Comments” function on the site was removed because they all dealt with either Poker or Viagra, just like my email box. Please continue to use the Forum for comments.
4. The Board of Directors (aka the volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the Club afloat) met tonight @ Scotty’s to discuss the upcoming windy season, the next Swap Meet, Membership issues, and Corporate Sponsorships. We meet every second Tuesday at Scotty’s Landing in Coconut Grove at 7:00PM. Here are the meeting notes:

Barry is our new Webmaster. The website has been down due to security issues and is now up and running again. Many thanks to Barry for fixing the website. Need to obtain information pertaining to the website from Rob.

Calendar
Brian will maintain and update the calendar section of the website.
Looking for advertisers for the website, i.e. banners.

Weekend Parties
Second weekend of every month, the SFWA will sponsor a party to be advertised on the calendar or the forum of the website.

5. Yes, the Club is still active, though our windless summer does slow us down. We have a new webmaster, so the site will be updated now.

Please consider joining our Club — your $25.00 membership fees help pay for our many expenses: Web Hosting, Swap Meets, Event Permits, Races, Insurance, etc. Banner ad advertising is also available.
