Fowey Rocks Wind Sensor finally fixed

After being down for months, the Fowey Rocks wind sensor is finally back up and running. Cheryl Firth from NOAA emailed me last month, and told me that the sensor was down and scheduled for maintenance. It is maintained by NOAA’s National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). The sensor is roughly 7 miles SE of Key Biscayne’s southern tip.

I guess we lucked out that it was down during the summer. Now all we need is wind ……

It’s Time to Swap! Bring a friend, bring the dog, bring your family, your used gear — and come swap ’til you drop!

Sailboards Miami and the South Florida Windsurfing Association (SFWA) are holding our Semi-Annual Watersports Swap Meet on Saturday, October 20st, 2007, beginning at 10:00AM next to Sailboards Miami at Rickenbacker Causeway on Key Biscayne.

We are also holding a General Meeting to vote in new Board Members at Noon.
