Ovidio tells me that our Fall Swap Meet date is tentatively set for Saturday, October 24.

Removal of pines on Rickenbacker Causeway controversial

“The Australian pines lining Rickenbacker Causeway have been a draw for generations, their shade cooling picnickers and board sailors, lovers and joggers.

Miami-Dade County has begun bulldozing them all — dozens of the stately trees from the toll booth to the Miami Seaquarium — as part of a $6.8 million project to restore eroding shoreline and prevent storm runoff from pouring directly into Biscayne Bay.”

The Urban Environment League presents the Virginia Key public design workshop on Sat., Sept 26, 2009, from 9AM to 1PM at the Rusty Pelican, 3201 Rickenbacker Causeway.  Be part of the solution in forging a Master Plan for Virginia Key. Come help the city create a community-focused, eco-friendly, responsible plan and show how citizen’s input can make a difference in South Florida.

Please let your friends know about this event to ensure a large turnout. Bring a brown paper bag lunch.

Time to get ready for the Miami Slalom Series  ,, October 16-18 2009 ..   The race will be held at Virginia Key, Miami .

Top  PWA and Formula  windsurfing pro champion  Gonzalo Costa-Hovel  ARG-3  has confirmed his attendance,  more pro riders will be comfirmed soon…

Event  programing and schedule :

Friday 16 :    Event registration  9:30 AM  – 11 AM 
                                 Breakfast , brunch
                                 First possible start     12:00 PM
                                 Opening Ceremony and Dinner at  BAY SIDE HUT RESTAURANT  6:00 pm

Saturday 17 : First possible race at 11: am
