Removal of pines on Rickenbacker Causeway controversial
“The Australian pines lining Rickenbacker Causeway have been a draw for generations, their shade cooling picnickers and board sailors, lovers and joggers.
Miami-Dade County has begun bulldozing them all — dozens of the stately trees from the toll booth to the Miami Seaquarium — as part of a $6.8 million project to restore eroding shoreline and prevent storm runoff from pouring directly into Biscayne Bay.”

I have lived in Miami all my life and I went the other day to walk my dogs and lay by the beach for a while and i notice that the only place left for me to unwind was the Rickenbacker Causeway I was so disappointed a place that alway made me feel so alive was bringing me to tears….I wanted to know are they going to be closing everything on the beach that your not going to be able to park by the water anymore?????
