No trailers at Virginia Key?

A friend tried to get into Virginia Key on Sunday at noon (way too crowded) to windsurf and noticed a new regulation: no trailers.
Anyone else know about this change?
I haul all my equipment conveniently in a always-ready-to-go trailer and find this regulation disturbing. I understand they may regulate like this to eliminate jet skis, but did they think about windsurfers?

With the causeway re-design, new limited parking, and all the "exercisers" discovering the parking, the windsurfing venues around Miami certainly seem to be shrinking!
:(

OK, I feel better now. I searched for and called the Virginia Key phone number I found. Guy says the "no trailers" sign is for boaters and jet skis. Windsurfing trailers are still allowed in. This Sunday looks to be good!
